NYE

I hope y'all had a very Merry Christmas I got some goodies this year including a Lomography camera, the Beyonce I Am... world tour DVD and CD and The Rocky Horror Picture Show soundtrack LOVE THEM!!
Anyways, New Years Eve is fast approaching so to save time worrying about what to wear I have put together 3 inspiration outfits :) Enjoy...

I love this topshop dress so much! It has a lowlow V at the back and would be the best NYE dress EVER! Tbh I didn't really know what shoes to pick the selection on polyvore was kinda limited but these New Look boots are nice :) I also love the the nail varnish which is topshop's Ware Paint which I think is the best name for a red I've ever heard. They're usually like apple or red but this is so cool!

This is for those who are venturing into the night to watch the fireworks. Warmth is key so get some Primark So Cozy tights they're about £2 and they are the warmest tights ever as they are fleecey inside. Hat is a must as tis chilly out in the big world beyond the laptop.

No plans, don't worry. Welcome in 2013 from the comfort of your own home eating choc and sitting in front of a screen.

Unfortunatly I won't be wearing #1 as I haven't been invited anywhere this year however, so far I should be going to Primrose Hill to watch the fireworks from a good distance away from the hustle and bustle of central. No one's confirmed yet so it'll probs be #3 for me :/

DKNY S/S 13

I was just scrolling through tumblr when DKNY's S/S 2013 campaign ads flashed past. I scrolled back up and was instantly drawn to the bright colours and of course the striking features of Cara Delevingne.

I love the fact that they look like candid shots! I want all the clothes, especially the yellow maxi dress, it's amazing and perfect for hot summers in New York City. (Not that I live there, but I've been there during the summer and it was too darn hot!)

Although I love Christmas and winter clothes these make me nostalgic of summer.

Cod Save the Sea!

About year ago I became VERY passionate about overfishing.
It all seems a bit of a blur when I think back to it.

You should check out Hugh's Fish Fight HERE to see what all the fuss is about :)

Anyways.
I was chillin with ma mere last Friday and while panicking about not having any shoes to wear to a Bond themed 18th later that night we stumbled upon...

THIS!

It's a fish and chips dress! These guys now how to catch the eyes of the passers by I can tell you!

Not gonna lie, I was kind of intimidated to go in as it's not your average shop. However I was so glad I did as it was helping my dear cause pirate fishing/overfishing/degredation of the seas.
They had some amazing clothes in there. I wish I'd taken more pictures but I didn't so I put my Alevel English skills to the test and do my best to describe the wonders within.

  • There were fish scale t-shirts and body-con skirts
  • Pirate arm shirts. They were so cool. Basically they were blue and white striped vests with flesh-coloured sheer/floaty sleeve. But the best part is that they had anchor tattoos on them! Like a pirate would have.
  • They had bright yellow rain macs that were amazing!
On the more affordable side of things they had t-shirts for £20. I couldn't leave without one!

The shop is a pop up one so it won't be there for ever so check it out while you can. Further details can be found on their website HERE!

Be seeing you.

Guess who's back. Back again. Catherine's back. Tell a friend.
I fell out of blogging for a while. No reason really just I had nothing to say.
UNTIL NOW!
Upon reading the Jan 2013 Company Magazine (which is the blogging issue btw) it inspired me to come return.
And I do so with my head held high.

Anna Karenina

On Friday evening I ventured to see Anna Karenina after only just seeing the trailer and needing to use up a Odeon voucher.

I was expecting a dull period drama but was hooked from the moment the first note of the overture.

The costumes, soundtrack and overall performances are flawless and I am looking forward to seeing it again!
The only downside is that Aaron Johnston ahem scuse me Taylor-Johnston is looking all fiiiyne but then in the back of my mind he has married a 42 year old and has two kids. WHHHYY. Hay ho if he's happy it's fine :)

Listen to this and fall in love.

Mini Haul

After attending a Physics lecture at Imperial College this morning me and my friends went down to Wimbledon and did some pre-cinema shopping and this is what I bought! (I went to see Magic Mike, bitofaletdown)

It really is a mini haul :)

Peace sign earrings and they were only £1.50!! I've been wanting some for ages so I quenched my need so to speak...

YingYang earrings!! On Urban Outfitters they're £6 + p&p which I was about to buy them as well! I also saw a version of these in a East End market but they were £23, and I'm not gonna pay that for earrings.

Three for £2 when on Asos they're about £6 as Louise Sprinkleofglitter would say "barginous".

I tried the stain but it was crappy and dry and for some reason only went on my bottom lip! This is really good and in the colour 001 Honey :)

So back to English homework I go, I hope the rain isn't getting y'all down.

Ma Gurrl: Beyonce

You know when people are like "who is the one person you'd love to meet or be besties with?" and people are like "Harry Styles" or "Selena Gomez" I'm like -_- I love them but it would be a waste.

This shall be a mini series of posts about the people I really admire/want to be/have their babies/etc... (got creepy there but y'all know what I mean!!!) I think I would cry if I met these people.

FIRST UP: BEYONCE
Do I need to explain why I love ma gurrl Bey? SHE IS SO COOL!!!
Ok, Imma quit my jibber jabber and proceed

 Black and White Bey
 oh SNAP Bey
 bubble Bey
 pout Bey, pout!

This song and this song are my go to Beyonce songs atmo :)
Hope y'all enjoy this appreciation to Ma Gurrl Beyonce.

Magazines

Hello! I always read magazines and I thought I'd share my favourites and some new additions to my reading pile :)

I'd always heard about Seventeen and when I bought my first copy I wasn't disappointed. It has great fitness tips each months that are simple to follow and not too strenuous :) However it's hard to find in a newsagent but WHSmith always have a sneeky copy tucked beneath other magazines.

This is my first copy of Nylon and I didn't like it much. This was mostly because it was filled with young "stars" who have achieved so much more than me and they're my age! I'll give it another read and I'll make a better judgement.

I got a subscription to Company for my birthday and I do really like it. I like the articles as they show a good range of clothes and articles are quite informative :) The down side is Jameela Jamil's column but it's only a page so I can live with it!

I have quite a collection of Teen Vogues, I started collecting in 2007 when my friend Maddie introduced me.   I love Teen Vogue, the articles are really relatable (I relate well to them). The fashion editorials are pretty too! However everything in the magazine is expensive :/

I only buy the July issue as it's the annual Benefit freebie :) I do like Glamour though as the sex articles are hilarious to read with friends and The Woman of the Year bits are cool. Overall a good magazine as there is a lot of it so it lasts for ages!

I thought it might be nice to show how I store my magazines...

Hope y'all had a good Jubilee :)
